Vegan Leather Care Guide
Your ESTETIKA case is crafted from premium vegan leather — a material chosen for its refined look, durability, and cruelty-free credentials. With a little routine care, it will continue to look and feel its best. The tips below are general best-practice guidelines; always check any specific care instructions included with your product, as material composition may vary across colourways and collections.
Routine Cleaning
After every few uses, give the exterior a gentle wipe-down to prevent surface build-up.
- Use a soft, dry or lightly damp microfibre cloth.
- Wipe in smooth, even strokes — avoid scrubbing in circular motions, which can dull the finish.
- Allow the case to air-dry fully before zipping it closed or storing it away.
- Do not use paper towels or abrasive cloths, which can cause micro-scratches over time.
Spot Cleaning — Hair Oil & Sweat Stains
Oil-based marks (such as hair serum, skin oils, or sweat) are among the most common stains on beauty cases. Address them promptly for the best result.
- Blot — do not rub — the area immediately with a clean dry cloth to absorb excess oil.
- Dampen a fresh cloth with a small amount of mild soap diluted in lukewarm water (e.g. a gentle dish soap or baby soap). Wring thoroughly — the cloth should be barely damp, not wet.
- Gently blot the stained area, working from the outside edge inward to avoid spreading.
- Wipe away any soap residue with a clean damp cloth, then pat dry.
- Leave flat or upright to air-dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat.
Note: For stubborn or set-in stains, test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area first. Results may vary depending on the specific material used in your product.
Scuff & Surface Mark Removal
Light scuffs are common, especially on lighter colourways.
- Try buffing very gently with a dry, soft cloth — this is often enough for superficial marks.
- For more persistent scuffs, a small amount of petroleum jelly or a dedicated vegan leather conditioner applied sparingly with a cotton pad can help restore the surface. Wipe away any excess immediately.
- Avoid shoe polish, acetone, or leather products formulated for genuine animal leather — these may damage the coating.
- We recommend testing any product on a hidden area (e.g. the base of the case) before applying to a visible surface.
Interior Lining Care
Many ESTETIKA cases feature a wipe-clean recycled interior lining, making upkeep simple.
- Turn the case inside-out where possible and wipe down with a lightly damp cloth.
- For cosmetic spills (foundation, powder, pigment), use a cotton pad with a small amount of micellar water — it's gentle and effective on most liner types.
- Allow the interior to dry fully before closing the case to prevent moisture build-up.
Moisture & Water Exposure
Vegan leather is generally more resistant to light moisture than genuine leather, but it is not fully waterproof.
- If the case gets wet, wipe it down promptly and let it air-dry naturally.
- Avoid submerging or running water directly over zips, hardware, or seams.
- Do not use a hairdryer, tumble dryer, or place near a heater to speed up drying — prolonged heat exposure can warp or crack the surface over time.
Storage
How you store your case when not in use has a meaningful impact on its longevity.
- Store upright or flat in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space away from direct sunlight, which can fade colour and dry out the surface.
- Avoid storing in plastic bags or sealed containers — breathability helps prevent moisture build-up.
- If you're packing your case into luggage, use a dust bag or soft cloth wrap to protect the exterior from scratches and pressure marks.
- Do not stack heavy items on top of the case, as this can distort its shape.
What to Avoid
The following can permanently damage vegan leather — avoid them entirely:
- Harsh chemical cleaners, bleach, ammonia, or solvent-based products
- Acetone or nail polish remover (even indirectly — keep the case away from open bottles)
- Abrasive sponges, steel wool, or rough cloths
- Machine washing or tumble drying
- Prolonged direct sunlight or heat (car dashboards, windowsills)
- Sharp objects stored loose inside that can press against the lining
